The top of the box contains the most exciting scene and the finest miniature section. It features Sadko and a small crew trying to quell the raging waters that the Tsar of the Sea has stirred up. The faces of the men are both intricately drawn and interesting to look at. The most powerful presence of the box is the Sea Tsar himself - Tsar Morskoy - shown on one of the sides. The look in his face and eyes will command your attention and not let it go. The lines on his face cleverly match his flowing seaweed-like beard. The mermaids on the other side, meanwhile, have a refined look like finely glazed porcelein, a style no Fedoskino artist does better than Serov.
